Graphic organizers are often used to help children understand what they are reading or to organize information in order to report it, such as through writing or an oral presentation like a speech. Graphic organizers can also be used to take notes while listening to a lecture.

Students who have difficulty with reading comprehension, writing, note taking, or focusing during lectures can use graphic organizers to help keep the information organized, making it more concrete and therefore easier to understand and remember.
